Christmas in July!

I know, I am behind...what can I say I have a 3 month old! ha ha Our challenge for card club for July was Christmas in July, so at least I did get a tiny head start on making my Christmas cards! :) There were 2 versions to my card, I ended up going w/ the so saffron base - although after I made them all I think I like the rose red one better??? I don't know. I had this stamp set from CTMH that had never seen ink along w/ the matching paper, so guess what?? I had to ink it up! So, with those 2 things in mind, I set off to create my masterpiece. ;) Anyone else start making Christmas cards yet?

Toilet paper roll mini album

I got this idea from one of the nurses when I was in the hospital after having the baby. It is so easy to do & was so much fun so I decided to make a few more. Our friends got married at the end of June & my cousin got married in July. I didn't know the colors of my cousins wedding so I stuck with some basic grey paper that I thought was fitting. Our friends wedding was lime green & teal so I custom made theirs to match their colors. The front "Happily ever after" is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge. I don't have any of the love/wedding themed cartridges so I made it work & think it looks nice. I also decorated the inside of the little pull out tabs with their new last names, etc - all they have to do is add pictures. The tabs are made with the Cricut Bags Tags & Boxes cartridge & are 4". This is a super easy project!

Punch art

Our challenge at card club was to create a card using punches. I freaked out!! ha ha I wanted to use my ornament punch since I have not used it since I got it last year! Sad huh?! I bought this ribbon at Michael's & liked the colors in it so decided to make my card around it. It is a simple card for me, usually my cards have lots of layers & take forever to make. The flower itself was a little hard to layout to make the "perfect" flower shape, it took me a few tries to get it just right. Once I started to mass produce it didn't take me long at all to make 5 of them.

Hubby's 1st Father's Day

My MIL came over & it gave me some time to get into my scrap room to make a few cards. I wanted to make something special for my husband for his 1st Father's Day. I just got this MFT die while shopping w/ the girls & I wanted to try it out! I absolutely love it & I am so glad I ended up buying both the scalloped dies. The paper is from The Guys stack I got at J's. It had been out of stock forever but I was lucky enough to find ONE left on the shelf during my last trip there so I had to buy it. I just love it! The fishing stamps are from The Angel Company & the sentiment is from PTI. I sooo love PTI sentiments, they think of everything! I am very happy with the way it turned out & he loved it. :)

Black & White

I love the clean look for black & white, and our challenge for card club was to use B&W. I added the red to make it pop! I used my long rectangle nestabilities for the front & then just cut the card to make it the size I wanted that way it would be a little bigger than if I let the nestie overlap in order to make the seam of the card. The "enjoy" sentiment makes it a pretty generic card - you can use it for retirement, birthday, etc all you need to do is add a more specific sentiment inside. I don't know about you, but I do this a lot with my cards because that way I can just stamp it as I need it for whichever occasion arises. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Long time, no post!

I haven't posted in a while because our baby boy was born 5/8! :) Life as we knew it has changed drastically so I haven't had much time to play. Today my MIL came & I got to make 6 cards - this is only the 2nd time I have stamped since he was born.

The card I am showcasing I made for our friend's bridal shower. Her colors are teal & lime green so I decided to stick with those colors for her card. I made the cake using my Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge. The cake was a birthday cake but I made it into an elegant wedding cake by using a Cuttlebug embossing folder & some spritz I made from the SU powder in the last mini. I just mixed it w/ alcohol & viola! I took some pictures so you can (hopefully) see the sheen to the cake & also the fact that I popped it up giving it a layered look. Hope you like it

Final take on white card

I finally found out what I was going to do for my white card. I used my new SU SAB punch as well as my Blossom nestabilities. My sentiment is from PTI's Wishing You set. I am happy with the way it turned out.

I am not sure when I will be able to post again (hope soon) but I am due with our baby boy tomorrow. Hope he gets here soon!!!
